This butterfly house is designed in the style of a Swedish coastal shipping lookout house. It has what hibernating butterflies need for dwelling and protection, as well as giving the garden a decorative touch all year round. The nest should be placed close to plants the butterflies are attracted to like lavender, flowerbeds or nettles! This provides the butterflies with the opportunity to find their way into the nest.
The slits, through which the butterflies will crawl and hibernate, bring them into the nest which only needs to be filled with some coarse bark or woodshavings (not supplied but bark is available in most garden centers) Coarser bark is to be preferred so that the filling doesnt become too compact & tight. It is important for there to be narrow hollows into which the butterflies can go.
An unusual and attractive gift to encourage more wildlife in your garden.
